Rebels held

Kokrajhar, Jan. 18: The Maratha Regiment of the Redhorns’ Division arrested two Adivasi militants, Sanjaysing Murmu and Zovial Soren, at Telipur village under Kachugaon yesterday.

AK-56 Rifle, two magazines along with 30 rounds of ammunition, a pistol and ammunition for .303 rifles were seized from them. The militants are suspected to be Adivasi Cobra Militants of Assam.

Karbi poll

Diphu: Independent member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Bajong Tisso, and senior Congress leader Jayram Ingleng will contest in the elections for chairmanship of the council on Friday.
