Foul play suspected in suicide

Jamshedpur, Jan. 14: A case of abatement to suicide was lodged against the two employees of city-based BD Roadways on the statement of Ramprakash Pandey’s younger brother who ended his life by hanging in his office on Friday night.

Deputy superintendent of police Madhusudan Bari said: “In a suicide note the victim has named two of his colleagues—Jitendra and Munna Singh alias Guddu — because of whom he was forced to end his life and the second the allegation was made by the family.”

“There are chances that some other members of the company siphoned the amount and implicated his name,” said a source.

During the investigation, it was also discovered that the two accused were also pressurising the family to pay Rs 40,000, so that the victim was not thrown out of job. The two employees frequently called the father and younger brother of the victim and threatened of dire consequences if they do not pay the amount.

“According to our information the victims father had even agreed to pay some amount so that his son in not tortured at the office,” said the officer. Before the family members could help him he ended his life.
