UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

Last date for receipt of applications: January 15, 2007; January 22, 2007 for candidates who live abroad or in remote areas

SUBJECT: The Union Public Service Commission invites applications for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2007, that will be held on May 20, 2007 at various centres across the country.

ELIGIBILITY: The applicant must not be less than 21 years of age or more than 30 years of age as on August1, 2007. The upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The applicant must have a bachelors degree from a recognised university and must be physically fit. The number of attempts permissible for different categories of aspirants is as follows: General candidates four; OBC candidates seven; SC/ST candidates unlimited.

PARTICULARS: Candidates can purchase the Common Application Form from designated post offices throughout the country on payment of Rs 20 in cash. In case of any difficulty, contact the UPSC Form Supply Cell by telephone (011-23389366) or fax (011-23387310). The applications must be sent, along with a Central Recruitment Fee Stamp worth Rs 50, to the Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069 by hand, Speed Post, post or courier. However, those sending in their applications by January 22, 2007, must send them only by post or Speed Post. SUBJECT: NIILM Centre for Management Studies (NIILM-CMS) invites applications for admission to the two-year postgraduate diploma in business management, which is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to an MBA degree. Candidates will be short-listed on the basis of their CAT scores and final selection will be based on group discussion and personal interviews conducted by the institute.

ELIGIBILITY: Graduation with a minimum score of 50 per cent.
