| Tokyo, Dec. 26 (Kyodo): Japan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 4 per cent in November, down from October 4.1 per cent. The rate, when calculated to two decimal places, comes to 3.99 per cent, the lowest since March 1998’s 3.85 per cent, Japan’s ministry of internal affairs and communications said in a report. The number of jobless people totalled 2.59 million in November, down 330,000 from a year earlier, the report said. In a separate report, the ministry of health, labour and welfare said the ratio of offers to job seekers came to a seasonally adjusted 1.06 in November, meaning there were 106 jobs for every 100 job seekers. The number of job offers dipped 0.1 per cent in November from the previous month, while that of job seekers declined 0.3 per cent. The number of new job offers gained 1.0 per cent from a year earlier, the report said. |
