Calcutta, Dec. 12: Police today rescued a four-day-old from a garbage vat near Sodepur on the cityís northern fringes and a couple took the baby home expressing their desire to adopt her.
North 24-Parganas police chief Praveen Kumar said the baby, spotted by Indranagar residents, was first brought to Ghola police station. Sanjay Adhikary and Tinku, who have a four-year-old son, will need the courtís permission to adopt the girl.
