Guwahati, Dec. 10: Northeast Regional Centre, Imphal, emerged champions in the Inter-Sports Authority of India Regional (junior boys) Archery Championship that concluded at SAI Newfield Complex here today.
Imphal archers bagged six gold, eight silver and as many bronze to top the tally with 22 medals. SAI Central Centre, Delhi, followed with five gold, four silver and two bronze medals.
Hosts Northeast Regional Sub-Centre, Guwahati, occupied the third slot in the tally with four gold, four silvers and five bronzes.
Archers of SAI Western Centre, Aurangabad, trailed in the fourth place with three gold, two silvers and two bronzes, while the boys of Southern Centre, Hyderabad, had to contend with a single bronze.
Altogether 60 archers from SAI centres across the country participated in the five-day event, which was organised in Guwahati for the first time. The SAI teams for the 29th Junior Nationals have also been selected during the meet.
