Arghyadip stuns GM Murshed

Mumbai: IM Abhijit Gupta of India assumed the sole lead with four points by crushing WGM S. Meenakshi in the Commonwealth chess meet on Thursday. Bengal’s Arghyadip Das (3.5) stunned Bangladeshi GM Niaz Murshed.

The games between overnight leaders, Surya Sekhar Ganguly and S. Kidambi, Tejas Bakre and Pravin Thipsay and Saptarshi Roy Chowdhury and Neelotpal Das were drawn.

GMs Sandipan Chanda (3) and Dibyendu Barua (3) were also held. (PTI)
