Name: Tintin

Creator: Herge

Dress Code: The character, created on January 10, 1929, dresses in a sailor outfit most of the time. He usually sports a pair of black pants, a blue sweater with an anchor on it and a sailor hat.

USP: A master of deduction.
He seems to have a certain flair for foreign languages and reads a lot. Drives cars, mopeds, rides horses, steers boats and aeroplanes. Knows French kick-boxing, is a good swimmer and shooter, does gymnastics and yoga.

Accompanied by: Snowy his dog and Captain Haddock.

Weapon: Sharp reflexes.

 

Name: Sherlock Holmes

Creator: Scottish author and doctor Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Dress Code: Holmes wears a deerstalker hat and cloak, smokes a pipe and clutches a magnifying glass.

Pet phrase in films: “Elementary, my dear Watson”.

USP: Is an expert singlestick player, boxer and swordsman. Has a good practical knowledge of British law. He has an IQ of 190 and is also a competent cryptanalyst.

Weapon: At times he carries a pistol.

 

Name: The Famous Five

Creator: Enid Blyton

Sip and bite: The children’s favourite drink is Ginger Beer with loads of sandwiches. Headstrong by nature, Georgina is a tomboy and has a fiery temper. Julian, the eldest of the five, is intelligent and is a natural leader. Dick (Richard) is the joker of the group, but also thoughtful. Anne is the youngest in the group with a natural instinct to mother the others. Timmy is George’s dog and the unofficial mascot for the group.

Meet up: Only during vacations. Holidays for the Five consist of either going off on a cycling tour, maybe camping or even visiting strange houses (castles, lighthouses among others).

Weapon: Presence of mind.

 

Name: Pradosh Chandra Mitter (Feluda)

Creator: Satyajit Ray

Dress Code: Casually dressed, and smokes a Charminar.Inspired by: Feluda, a brooding personality and an astute observer, is believed to have been inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes.

USP: Yoga and mogojostro.

Accompanied by: Cousin Tapesh Ranjan Mitter (Topshe) and author Lalmohan Ganguly (Jatayu).

Weapon: Colt revolver

 

Name: Hercule Poirot

Creator: Agatha Christie

Dress Code: Formal suit and patent-leather shoes. His moustache is stiff and military.

Mannerism: His head, exactly the shape of an egg, is always tilted a little to one side.

USP: Poirot is extremely punctual and carries a turnip pocket watch almost to the end of his career.

Weapon: He is a psychological detective who proceeds not just by a painstaking examination of the crime scene, but by enquiring either into the nature of the victim or the murderer.
