Terms for Reliance

Calcutta, Nov. 6: The Bengal government appears to be fi- ne-tuning the terms under which it is prepared to sign an agreement with Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance for the company’s farm products project.

The terms, being drawn up in response to concerns in the CPM, could include a mix of regulatory controls and locational restrictions.

The Telegraph has learnt that CPM general secretary Prakash Karat has written a letter to the state party, seeking details about Reliance’s plan. The letter is a reflection of the leadership’s apprehensions about the project that covers procurement, distribution and retail sales.
