Jamshedpur, Nov. 4: Two
cadets from Jharkhand — Neelam Khalco and Rinki Kujur —
have been selected in the national team for the Asian Football
Confederation (under-19) Women’s Championship to be held
in Kuala Lumpur from November 7 to 15.
Neelam, who hails from Ranchi,
is a goalkeeper and has represented India in international
tournaments. For Rinki, who hails from Seraikela-Kharsawan
district, this would be maiden appearance in an international
tournament.
RSP College
Dhanbad: Experts have said
there was no imminent danger to RSP College in Jharia because
of the underground fire. The college can function for about
six months without fear, they said at a meeting on Saturday.
New party
Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand
Vikas Morcha (Secular), a breakaway JVM faction, on Saturday
announced its office-bearers. Chief general secretary Surya
Singh Besra said 17 members have been inducted into the
party, an outfit floated by Stephen Marandi.

Ranchi: The admission list
of BEd candidates will be published by Ranchi University
on Monday.
RU soccer
Ranchi: J.N. College, Sisai,
defeated Ranchi Women’s College 1-0 in the Ranchi University
inter-college women’s football tournament match being played
at the Ranchi College grounds. In other matches, Gossner
and Mandar colleges played to a goal-less draw, while Ranchi
College defeated Mandar College 1-0. Gossner drubbed Ranchi
Women’s College 3-0.
Basketball
Jamshedpur: DAV, Koylanagar
(Cluster III), on Saturday emerged winners of the 24th Zonal
Mahatma Hansraj Aryan Basketball Tournament. In the boys’
category, they defeated DAV, Hazaribagh, 48-35 and the Koylanagar
girls defeated DAV, Bistupur, 15-9.
Body found
Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum
district police on Saturday recovered a body of a middle-aged
man from Shyamsundarpur forests. The man had died due to
a bullet injury, the police said.
