Sudip to lead Bengal U-15 side

Sudip Chatterjee will captain the Bengal under-15 cricket team this season. Bengal will play Assam in the first match at the Maligaon Railway Stadium from November 1 to 3.

The squad: Sudip Chatterjee (captain), Santosh Sabanayakan (wicket-keeper), Sumit Sarkar, Saumajit Karmakar, Tanay Samanta, Purab Joshi, Sambit Roy, Kartick Das, Indrasish Roy, Tuhin Banerjee, Vivek Singh, Uday Pratap Singh, Parikshit Dhall, Romit Sengupta.

Douglas moves FPAI

Discarded by Mohammedan Sporting in the middle of the season, Douglas Da Silva approached Football Players’ Association of India (FPAI) on Wednesday. The Brazilian called on FPAI’s chief executive Sumit Mukherjee and explained his side of the story to him. “We are acting as a middleman,” Mukherjee said.

Ramit wins

Top seed Ramit Tandon of Tamil Nadu made it to the third round of the boys’ under-15 category of the Junior National Squash Championships that got underway at the Calcutta Racket Club on Wednesday. Ramit outplayed Sagar Murdeshwar of Maharashtra 9-1, 9-2, 9-3.
