5 golds for Indian eves

New Delhi: Indian eves set the tone for the ensuing World Cup by winning the coveted Venus Cup International Boxing Tournament in Veijle, Denmark.

The pugilists, led by reigning world champion MC Marykom, garnered five gold medals, four silver and one bronze in the competition that concluded on Sunday.

Marykom outpunched S. Duta of Romania in the third round of their bout in the 46kg class.

The others to bag gold are Chottu Laura, Sushma Kumari, L. Sarita Devi and N. Usha. Kalpana Chaudhary bagged a silver. (PTI)
