Ashraf to review projects

Karachi: With the change in regime, Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB’s) plans to initiate mega projects worth Rs 2.5 billion to improve infrastructure for holding the Champions Trophy in 2008 and the World Cup in 2011 would have to wait for the new chairman’s approval.

The previous management, headed by Shaharyar Khan, had finalised a huge budgetary expenditure of Rs 2.5 billion to increase the seating capacity in different Stadia and building new infrastructure. But before it could start the work on the projects, Dr Nasim Ashraf took over and in principal decided to review all the projects, according to a report in a Pakistan daily. (PTI)
