Q: What’s your role in Apna Sapna Money Money..? Is it just money-money-money?

Yep! Money is one thing which keeps you going. It’s an undercurrent, a force that keeps everything on the move. I am playing a simpleton, a next-door neighbour guy, who is always ready to take care of the people living in the vicinity. I try to perform comical roles seriously. If I make money on reel I think of how to spend it? And if I do not make money on reel I think of making it. The story will unveil all the incidents that generally people encounter in real.

Q: Have you singed a contract with Mukta Arts?

It’s nothing like that. I have recently done a few films outside this banner, too. One thing is very clear that I made it through Mukta Arts after I did Iqbal. So I will not hesitate to say that I have gained recognition only after Iqbal. So this production house has strengthened my foundation. I am also doing a different role in Prakash Jha’s film. All I can tell you is that it is a love story. So you can rest assured that I will be performing offbeat roles and for that matter any kind of roles. I am an artiste, I am here to perform. I keep my fingers crossed and wish to be blessed with different types of roles.

Q: How do you choose the subject and do you seek anyone’s advice?

I hear the narration first and if I like it I definitely ask them to provide me with the script so that I can confirm the other formalities with them. I always take a piece of Nagesh’s [Kukunoor] mind and my secretary Sanjay’s who help me decide on the roles.

Q: Does this mean you are easy to get?

Look, guys, I am here to work and I do not throw tantrums. I do not like unnecessary flaunting. If somebody is really wanting to meet me and has a script I lend them my ear. At a later stage I may refuse to work with them only because of date problems which I might face since I am getting involved with quite a few movies.

Q: Who is your icon?

I am a diehard fan of Amitabh Bachchan. I have seen all his movies, not once but ‘’ number of times. He is a real perfect actor who has always performed each and every role to the best of his ability. I can never perform anywhere close to Amit Saab’s standard.

Q: What is your passion other than acting?

I love to write. During my free time I sit and scribble and the next moment I tear it off because I don’t like what I write. Once I like what I have written, I shall direct a short film.
