Barclays stake in IDFC

Mumbai, Oct. 11: Barclays Capital Mauritius today acquired over 4.25 crore shares of IDFC Ltd in two separate bulk deals for about Rs 306 crore through open market transactions. According to data available with the stock exchanges, Barclays purchased 2.11 crore shares in a bulk deal at the Bombay Stock Exchange for Rs 71.94 per share, while it bought another 2.15 crore for Rs 71.98 per share in a bulk deal at the National Stock Exchange.

RPL loan

New Delhi, Oct. 11: Reliance Petroleum will borrow $2 billion from a consortium of 14 banks to part-finance its upcoming $6.1-billion (Rs 27,000 crore) refinery at Jamnagar in Gujarat.

Tax collection

New Delhi, Oct. 11: The Centre’s customs and excise duties collections rose 17 per cent to Rs 93,069 crore in the first half of this fiscal while the service tax kitty shot up 65 per cent to Rs 12,412 crore during the April-August period.

M&M move

Mumbai, Oct. 11: Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) has entered the Iranian market, becoming the first Indian firm to launch tractors in the region. M&M has entered into a strategic tie-up with a local tractor manufacturer.

Harrisons sale

Mumbai, Oct. 11: Harrisons Malayalam is seeking shareholders’ approval to sell or transfer its Kaliyar rubber estate in Kerala for Rs 53 crore.
