Mumbai: Speedster Sreesanth has been ruled out of the Rest of India squad for the Irani Trophy match due to an injury in his right toe.
Lakshmipathy Balaji has been named as replacement for the Kerala seamer for the Irani Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh, BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said.
Shah said team India physiotherapist John Gloster has examined the toe and has advised eight days of rest to Sreesanth.
Sreesanth is not in the Champions Trophy squad starting from October 7. The four-day Irani Trophy, is scheduled from October 9.
