Bharti block deal

Mumbai, Sept. 29: The Bharti Airtel counter saw a block deal on the BSE today, where about 1.29 crore shares changed hands in the FII segment at a price of more than Rs 500 per share. The deal has been valued at over Rs 645 crore. The identities of the parties involved could not be established. Bharti Axa Life Insurance Company has opened its first branch here and said it is planning to set up 30 branches by 2007.

RBI review

Mumbai, Sept. 29: The Reserve Bank (RBI) will present its mid-term review of the annual policy statement for 2006-07 on October 31. The bank said governor Y.V. Reddy would meet the chief executives of major scheduled commercial banks at 11 am on that day.

Hinduja TMT

Mumbai, Sept. 29: Hinduja TMT has decided to consolidate its overseas holdings under a single entity, its wholly owned subsidiary Pacific Horizon Ltd, based in Mauritius.

DCB price

Hyderabad, Sept. 29: Development Credit Bank (DCB), whose initial public offering (IPO) opened for subscription today, has fixed the price band of the equity shares with a face value of Rs 10 each between Rs 22 and Rs 26. The price is to be determined through 100 per cent book- building.

L&T plan

Mumbai, Sept. 29: Larsen and Toubro (L&T) will invest $100 to $150 million in overseas ventures over the next 18 months. The investments will predominantly go to West Asia and China.
