People seem to be terrified of Rakhi Sawant. They are terrified of what she’ll do next. In one charity show, recently, Rakhi was consciously not asked to perform. Instead, another iem dancer, Nandini, who goes by the label, Krazy Kat, was invited to perform. But Rakhi landed up all the same and insisted she be allowed to perform. She even approached the Oshiwara police station for permission. But even the police are now wary of her. Kya item hai, bhiddu!

After those sedate/serious roles in ...Yahaan and Matrubhoomi, Minissha Lamba got back with a bang on the glam front in Anthony Kaun Hai? and the forthcoming Rocky. But sedate? You joking? She is in reality fiercely independent and an adventurous lady. And this attitude had the crew of Anthony Kaun Hai? breaking into a cold sweat. During the outdoors of AKH at Krabi, Thailand, she had her crew members and director Nikhil Panchamiya go completely berserk when she suddenly went missing for a good three hours, that too on the first day of the shoot! Lured by the pleasures of the exotic Thai massage she compulsively indulged herself, yes, but without leaving even a note that she was off on a pleasure trip. Her logic is — she’s old enough to take care of herself and also didn’t have any scenes to do. So looking around a new place was the surest thing to do. Ya, right, but the producer and unit didn’t think the same way. While you are getting your Thai massage, baby, a message to the others in the team would help.

Her latest single, Deja-vu, is rocking the charts. But posing for its album cover, B’day, had rockstar Beyonce turn into a rock. To her utter disgust she was asked to pose with an alligator. She had to stand in an alligator-infested swamp, just outside New Orleans, holding one of them — for the artwork. And it was one of those 13-foot things that gave her real cold feet. Art or no art, she simply refused to hold one of them until its mouth was tightly taped. And then, too, she could hold just a baby. But as the story goes the alligator was more upset and scared of Beyonce than the other way about!

Celina is very bitter about her split with boyfriend Sean. This time she’s had enough of BFs and men. All you hear her say is: “I have met a lot of men...I realise most of them are cheats.” Hello, Rip Van Winkle. Sean, as she realised, was trying to use her connections in Bollywood for his own vested interest. When Celine was convinced of this she severed all relationships with the sly guy. It was during her schedule in Vikram Bhatt’s Red that troubled started in her paradise. It was all the more tortuous for her since the film is also a dark romance and she could relate to the character like never before. But she pulled through it all with her mom by her side. And now she says she’s realised what family means. But didn’t she know about the men in her life, oh dear!

Megha Chatterjee

Working on dates?

After making her debut in a Bengali film opposite Mahanayak Uttam Kumar’s grandson in Bhalobashar Aar Ek Naam, Megha Chatterjee was all set to enter Hindi filmdom. She was cast opposite Aamir Khan’s brother, Hyder Ali, in Raja Bundela’s Sirf Romance — Love by Chance produced by Delhi-based builder Deepak Sharma. Not just that she was to bag quite a hefty remuneration, thanks to mamma Moushumi Chatterjee’s clout. In fact, it was a neat Rs 11 lakh, and that too Rs 8 lakh more than what the hero of the film was offered! Boy, oh boy! Even Aamir’s bro losing out so heavily to a chit of a Chatterjee?

Then came the twist in the tale. Megha has been replaced by one Saniia. And who dat? Well, Saniia (changed, screen name) claims to be the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah’s niece. And Moushumi is left fuming no doubt — “The producer of the film didn’t give us correct information from day one.” They booked her dates and then didn’t get back to her at all. So she also made Megha sign another film, with Dayal Nihalani. The producers of Sirf Romance, however, maintained that they were keen on Megha, but she had a date problem. The producer supposedly even volunteered to convince Nihalani to push back his dates. But the fact was, they never really bothered. Next?
