Narsee Monjee College, Mumbai, organised their fest, Umang, last month. More than 50 colleges, including Bhawanipore College of Calcutta and Narsee Monjee College, St Xaviers College, Mithibai College and HR College of Mumbai took part in this one-week festival. Major events included war of the DJs, Western dance, mock-a-band, fashion show, war of the rappers, etc. Bhawanipore College grabbed the first prize in events like Western dance, fashion show and mock-a-band and were also declared the best college. The judges were Bollywood personalities like Shabana Azmi (picture, left), VJ Tina from Channel V, Deepak Tijori and Anu Malik.

Convocation time

Futuristix Media Communication Centre (FMCC), India’s premier advertising, media and journalism institute, celebrated its second convocation on August 30. The chief guest was Santosh Desai, president, McCann Erikson. Other eminent personalities present on the occasion were Shamshir Rai Luthra, personality development guru and radio jockey, Talking Rich Company, Anurag Batra, MD and editor-in-chief, exchange4media, and legendary cricketer, Kapil Dev.

After the second batch of students were awarded their diplomas, the present batch performed an entertaining show.
