‘Clean’ cola

Calcutta, Aug. 21: Two Coke bottlers met water resources investigation minister Nandagopal Bhattacharya today to convince him that their drinks were safe.

Bhattacharya, who has been demanding a ban on colas, said the Dankuni bottler admitted it was using an unauthorised tubewell. The Taratala bottler said the soil there was arsenic- affected, but the water it uses was safe. The minister did not agree.
