Nabi, Mukhtar ready to face music

Syed Rahim Nabi and Mohammed Mukhtar admitted that they were at faults in front of the players? status committee of the IFA on Monday. They are also ready to accept any punishment handed to them by the committee.

Nabi and Mukhtar along with Shylo Malsawmtluanga and M. Suresh had allegedly taken advance from East Bengal but signed in favour of Mohammedan Sporting this season.

However, Malsawmtluanga and Suresh stuck to their old point and asked for valid papers of their advances from East Bengal.

Mouri Sporting thrashed Salkia Sports Association 3-0 in a Sahara CFL first division group B match at the Howrah Stadium on Monday.

AITA series

Top seed Karan Bidani blanked Chandramoulee Das 6-0, 6-0 in the opening round of the boy?s under-12 singles of Vision Search-AITA Talent Series Tennis Championship being played at the Calcutta Gymkhana courts on Monday. In the under-16 category, top seed Rohan Ray trounced Ashray Bhasin by identical margin.

Table tennis

Soumen Saha will face Srinkanta Biswas in the title clash of the sub-junior boys? singles of the CLT Table Tennis Championship on Tuesday.

In the semi-finals on Monday, Soumen defeated Paramesthi Sen 11-9, 7-11, 11-8, 10-12, 11-6, 9-11, 12-10 and Srikanta got the better of Koustav Dey 5-11, 11-8, 11-3, 4-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-7.
