film world

Reel tale

Make a movie, it’s easy! www.filmstreet.co.uk, a new website, is offering children the chance to learn how to make their own movie. The site is extremely user friendly. In case you need help, don’t worry. Joey or Julia will take you around the film studio. Dave will take you around the section called “cinemas” where you get to watch all those films that other children from all over the world have made. Now, as far as making a movie is concerned, first you need to choose the plot, the characters, the setting and then the props before getting down to a storyline. In fact, Fay from the Film Academy section will even help you write the script if you want. The website is neatly categorised into several sections like cinema, animation, library and so on. What’s more you can also play games and win prizes while calling the shots from the director’s chair!

cup fever

Foul play

Nearly 400 children from the UK aged 11 and over went all the way to Germany to watch the match between Portugal and Iran in the ongoing World Cup. But once they reached there, it turned out that their tickets for the match were fakes! Consequently, they were not allowed to enter the stadium. Fifa, which had issued warnings about fake tickets in the countdown to the contest, said the incident was “absolutely regrettable”. Some families had even paid more than £400. Though unfortunate, this incident should serve as a lesson. Next time while purchasing tickets for any gala event, exercise caution to avoid disappointment.
