Doubles gold for cadet girls

Calcutta: Indian paddlers clinched gold in the cadet girls doubles and silver in the cadet boys doubles in the SAIL-2006 Indian Junior Open at the Netaji Indoor stadium on Saturday.

In an all-India final, the duo of Shreya Ghosh and Pooja Sahastrabuddhe defeated Ankita Das and Shruti Talnekar 11-7, 12-10 and 11-4.

In the cadet boy’s doubles final, Soumyajit Ghosh and Raj Mondal went down rather tamely to Li Chung Him Samuel and Ma Justin Ming Yin of Hong Kong 6-11, 7-11, 6-11.
