Have you ever come across snake skin? Do you know why snakes shed their skin? Strange as it may sound, snakes keep growing throughout their lives, although more slowly as they grow older. The skins are discarded at regular intervals of one to three months. The process, known as sloughing, begins at the lips and and when it ends the skin is turned completely inside out and left in one piece.
