Trio takes EB to court

Syed Rahim Nabi, Shylo Malsawmtluanga and M. Suresh, who want to play for Mohammedan Sporting in the ensuing season, filed a case against East Bengal in the City Civil Court on Thursday. The trio, which donned red-and-gold shirts last season, alleged that East Bengal officials have forged their signature, signed false vouchers and stolen their transfer tokens to stop them playing for Mohammedan Sporting.

Meanwhile, Reebok on Thursday signed a three-year deal as the kit sponsors of Mohammedan Sporting.


Shuvo Halder and Aandrita Deb clinched top honours in the U-12 boys' and girls' sections in the finals of the DKS-BTA Mini Junior Tennis Tournament at the DKS Tennis Complex on Thursday. Shuvo defeated Varun Garg 6-3, 6-1, while Aandrita ousted Srijita Ghosh 6-0, 6-2.

Muqtadir Ahmed lifted the U-10 boys' crown defeating Anubhav Tirath Lal 8-2.


Club Olympia defeated Bardhaman 17-13 in the girls' section of the 13th Youth State Basketball Championships at the 1923 Chhatra Samity courts on Thursday.
