Handball meet
Imphal:
The 26th all-Manipur junior handball meet will begin at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium from Thursday.
Saini selected
Imphal:
N. Saini Devi of Manipur has been named in the Indian squad to participate in the 16th Meeting of Shooting Hopes at Plzen in the Czech Republic from June 15-18. Saini has already left for Germany where she is representing the country at the 12th International Juniors Shooting Championship.
Wushu team
Imphal:
The 21-member Indian junior squad for the first World Junior Wushu Championships at Kuala Lumpur has 11 players from Manipur. The national team will be trained here in July. Sachidanana M. and M. Birmani Singh will be the routine coach and Sanshou judge respectively for the international meet to be held from August 19-26. The Manipur players are W. Shakhenbi Chanu, Ch. Devjani Devi, L. Jhaljit Singh, H. Omega Meitei, P. Rebika Devi, Y. Sanathoi, Arunpama Devi, K. Naocha Devi and H. Gagarin.
Manipur chess
Imphal:
The 16th Kh Anou Singh all-Manipur open chess tournament, organised by Kwakeithel Chess Club, will get under way at Kwakeithel Boys? Junior High School from June 10. Interested players have been asked to file entries by June 8.
