Guwahati, May 23: Cotton Collegiate HS School defeated Army School by two wickets to qualify for the quarterfinals in the 2nd Dipika Saikia and Dhan Sena Sinha inter-school cricket tournament at the Latasil Ground here.

Army School elected to bat and were all out for 115 in 21.1 overs. The Collegiate boys romped home losing eight wickets in 22.2 overs.

Siddhartha Ojha topscored for the Army School with 27 runs while Bimal Rongpi and Ritesh Chetri of Collegiate shared three wickets each for 14 and 17 runs respectively.

For Collegiate, Man of the Match Krishna Kanta Sarma and Jyotiprasad Thakuria remained unbeaten on 28 (4x4, 6x1) and 16 runs respectively. Kamakhya Puri and Maharishi Sarma shared three wickets each conceding 15 and 28 runs respectively.

The match between South Point School and Faculty HS School was abandoned due to rain. It will be played tomorrow.

In a quarterfinal match tomorrow afternoon, Fairyland High School will clash with DAV School.
