Hailakandi, May 18: The summer exposure tour of the junior teams of the Silchar Cricket Coaching Centre to Mumbai ended on Monday on a successful note with both teams registering wins in their respective matches on the last day.
The touring Silchar under-17 squad thrashed the Achrekar Coaching Centre, run by Sachin Tendulkar and Ramakant Achrekar, by a huge margin of 108 runs in Mumbai.
The visitors batted first and were all out for 154 in 32 overs with Abhisekh Neogi topscoring with 47 runs. Biswajit Dutta and Lok Nath contributed 20 and 14 runs respectively.
In reply, the Achrekar boys were skittled out for a paltry 36 in just 13 overs. Suraj Paul of Silchar scalped four for 12 while Sadek Ahmed and Abhisekh Neogi shared two wickets each, conceding nine and four runs respectively.
In another match, the Silchar under-19 boys beat their DY Patel Sports Club counterparts by six runs. The Silchar boys were 108 all out in 34 overs while the home team were bundled out for 102 in 23 overs.
Sukanta Dey topscored for the Silchar side with 46 runs and Pradip Das chipped in with 17. Amit Debroy scalped four wickets for 20 runs and Suman Das claimed two for 18.
