tall tales

The coolest one

When we’re children, we desperately want to grow up. But mind you we’re not the only ones. Did you know that even mountains want to grow taller? For instance, the little Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps is all set to grow up. In other words, it will soon be taller than it was. The officials have announced plans to build an extension. The 3,883 metre high Klein Matterhorn is overshadowed by its bigger brother which, at 4,478 metres, is the seventh highest mountain in the Alps. But officials from the local tourism board in Zermatt say that things are about to change and they are going to add a 120 metre-high glass pyramid on top of the Klein Matterhorn so that it is about 4,000 metres. This will apparently attract a greater number of tourists as well as avid climbers. The pyramid will include viewing platforms, a restaurant and even a few rooms where visitors can stay overnight.
