England vs Lanka series to launch new FTP

Calcutta: India will host world champions Australia every September from 2007 to 2010. While September 2008 will feature four Tests, the other occasions will include a seven-match ODI series.

India will tour Down Under twice in 2007 and 2011 to play four Tests and a tri-series on each visit, according to the new six-year Future Tours Programme (FTP), announced by the ICC on Tuesday.

The England-Sri Lanka series, which begins at Lord’s on Thursday, is the first to start under it, according to a media release.

May 2006: To West Indies, 4 Tests and 5 ODIs

July 2006: To Sri Lanka, tri-series

Nov. 2006: To South Africa, 3 Tests and 5 ODIs

Jan. 2007: Hosts West Indies and Sri Lanka, tri-series

May 2007: To Bangladesh, 2 Tests and 3 ODIs

June 2007: To Scotland, 1 ODI; To England, 3 Tests and 7 ODIs

Sept. 2007: Hosts Australia, 7 ODIs

Oct. 2007: Hosts Pakistan, 3 Tests and 5 ODIs
