Guwahati, May 8: DAV School and Little Flower High School posted convincing wins in their respective league matches of the second Dipika Saikia and Dhan Sena Sinha all-Assam inter-school prizemoney cricket meet at Latasil Ground here today.
DAV School defeated Rajdhani Public School by 95 runs in the morning match, while Little Flower rode Eshan Das? efforts to leave Paramount High School short by 35 runs.
DAV elected to bat and rode an explosive 71 by skipper Amanur Ali to compile 192 for five in 20 overs. In their run chase, Rajdhani lost wickets at regular intervals to be bundled out for 97 in 18 overs.
Amanur, whose 39-ball knock comprised five sixes and as many hits to the ropes, also notched three wickets, to be named Man of the Match. Manoj Roy chipped in with 36 runs as well as two wickets.
For Rajdhani Public School, Amit Das scored 35.
In the afternoon tie, Little Flower School batted first and were restricted to 149 for seven in 20 overs. Man of the Match Eshan Das wreaked havoc, hauling five Paramount wickets for 28 off four overs. The team was bundled out for 114 in 16.4 overs.
Bidyut Bikash Baruah topscored for Little Flower with a quickfire 30 off 15 balls. Anjan Bezbaruah chipped in with a steady 23 while Eshan contributed a breezy 22.
Sudhir Gupta of Paramount scalped three for 19, while Kironmoi Deori captured two for seven.
For Paramount, Arnap Teron scored 22 and Rajkumar Agarwal 12. Chinmoy Kash-yap ably supported Eshan with two for only one run, bowling only five deliveries.
Army School will clash with Saint Joseph?s English High School and Faculty HS School lock horns with Guru Nanak High School tomorrow.
