Anirban, Mousumi emerge best

Anirban Nandy and Mousumi Pal won the men's and women's titles, respectively, in the West Bengal Table Tennis Association-organised championship at SAI on Thursday.

Anirban beat Prithviraj Bose 11-6, 5-11, 14-12, 11-7, 11-7 while Mousumi edged past Pallabi Kundu 11-8, 9-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-6, 6-11, 11-6.

East Bengal rode a 113 from Amitava Chakraborty to reach 330 for nine against Kalighat on the opening day of the CAB Senior Division League Championship play-off semi-final at the Eden on Thursday.
