Calcutta, May 1: Oudh Sugar Mills has chalked out a Rs 117-crore expansion plan.
The K.K. Birla group company plans to step up crushing capacity by 1,300 tonnes crushing per day (TCD) from its existing 4,200 TCD at Rosa in Uttar Pradesh. It will also put up a co-generation plant of 20 mega watt there.
Oudh Sugar chairman Chandra Sekhar Nopany said the new facility would be ready by the crushing season next year. “It will be ready by October 2007,” he added.
The company has three manufacturing facilities ' two in Uttar Pradesh and one in Bihar.
While the company will expand the facility at Rosa next year, fresh capacity at Hargaon in Uttar Pradesh and Narkhatiagunj in Bihar will be added by November.
“After the expansion, the company will have a crushing capacity of 23,000 TCD and will be able to generate 30 mw of power,” Nopany said.
Third quarter net up
Oudh Sugar has posted over 364 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 19.73 crore for the third quarter ended March 31, 2006 against Rs 4.25 crore in the same quarter of 2004-05.
Sales rose 44.20 per cent at Rs 136.57 crore against Rs 94.7 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.
