Seoul: Amandeep Johl carded a three-under 69, and was tied for eighth after the first round of the GS Caltex Maekyung Open on Thursday.
He was two shots behind the three leaders, Suk Jong-Ryul, Lee In Woo and Lee Seung Man, all from Korea.
Rahil Gangjee made a great recovery on the back nine with four birdies in a fine 32 to end up with 71 and in tied 32nd place.
Gaurav Ghei (72) was in tied 52nd, while Harmeet Kahlon shot a one-over 73 for 77th place and Shiv Kapur had a disastrous start with a four-over 76 in 129th place.
