Prasanna to replace Bedi at ZCA camp

Former India off-spinner Erapalli Prasanna will visit the Zonal Cricket Academy?s (ZCA?s) eastern centre on Monday. Prasanna will be replacing former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi, who has cancelled his trip for personal reasons, according to a ZCA source. Former ICC Match Referee and legendary batsman Gundappa Viswanath will also visit the academy early next month. The ZCA ? under three coaches, Bharath Arun, Syed Saba Karim and Rajesh Dani ? is holding a two-day video analysis from Friday.

Ranadeb stint

Bengal medium-pacer Ranadeb Bose will play club cricket in England this season. Ranadeb will turn out for Crewe Cricket Club in Liverpool. He has been given a contract of four months starting from mid May.

Sub-jr cricket

Ashok Malhotra Cricket Academy (AMCA) were 11 for two in reply to Naihati Sporting CCC?s 183 on Day I of the two-day quarter final of Ambar Roy sub-junior meet (95 points).

4 on IFA body

Four former footballers ? Prasanta Banerjee, Moheul Islam, Kartik Sett and Sunil Bhattacharya ? were inducted in the IFA governing body. A total of 35 new members were drafted into the governing body at a meeting on Friday.

Ekka brace

Riding a brace from Petrus Ekka, Eastern Railway defeated Calcutta Port Trust 2-0 in a BHA first division league match on Friday. In another match, BNR outplayed Punjab SC 3-0, Leonard Bilung, Rajat Minz and Joran Singh scoring for the winners.
