Jamshedpur, April 21: Tata Workers? Union (TWU) has failed to meet the deadline for the submission of the detailed voters? list for the coming union elections.
Their two-day deadline expired today.
TWU general secretary D.K. Singh said, although the district administration had asked the union to provide it with the voters? list, it would not be possible for TWU to furnish it as of now, since the list has to be cross-checked and updated before submission.
Earlier, union officials had met deputy commissioner Nitin Madan Kulkarni, on Wednesday, where they held preliminary discussions about the forthcoming polls. In the meeting, Kulkarni had asked the union to provide him with a voters? list within 48 hours, the deadline for which expired tonight.
?Our union president had discussed this issue with me after meeting the deputy commissioner. But finalising the voters? list will take a few days. The list has to be updated based on the donations that the members give to the union each month,? said Singh.
