Jamshedpur, April 12: A delegation of industrialists from the city will visit China to assess low-cost production technologies adopted by the country.
A 17-member delegation from the Singhbhum Industries Association (SIA) will tour to industrial hubs in China on a 10-day visit.
They will also visit various automobile outlets in Shanghai and study the technology adopted by the world-class companies.
A visit to the international automobile fair, Canton, at Guangzhou, too, is lined up for the delegation.
SIA general secretary Narayan Pal said the basic objective of the foreign tour is to assess low-cost production technology by Chinese companies.
?The Indian market has been flooded with Chinese products. No Indian companies can compete in areas of manufacturing toys, electronic gadgets and agricultural products like them,? Pal said.
He added that the Chinese companies have been manufacturing various products at much cheaper rates and successfully exporting them to the Indian market.
?The Indian consumers prefer Chinese products over the indigenous ones because of the quality and low price,? Pal said.
On April 14, the delegation will fly to China from Calcutta. The team will first attend the international fair in Mainland of China for two days.
Later the delegation will tour to Shanghai. Then the delegation will head for Beijing and meet various engineers and managers. Before coming to Calcutta, the delegation will stay for a night in Hong Kong.
The delegation will come back on April 24.
