Calcutta: Bitan Banerjee and Raj Goenka jointly shared the lead with five points in the under-13 category after the Round VI of the 18th State Age-group Chess Championship at the Bhowanipur Gujarati Education Society on Tuesday.

Bitan, The Telegraph Schools’ Chess Champion, systematically outplayed Pallavi Roy the Asian U-12 Girls’ bronze medallist in a queen’s pawn opening. Bitan now meets Raj Goenka ? who outwitted Sukantya Dutta ? in the final round.
