Book launch

The department of English, Calcutta University, will launch its publication, Tagore and Modernity, at Bangla Akademi (Nandan complex), 6 pm.

Soiree

Parivartan will present a cultural evening at Titagarh Town Hall, Barrackpore, 4 pm. Bangla folk band Kaya will perform, as part of Poila Baisakh celebrations in association with Sananda, at Shoppers? Stop, City Centre, at 5 pm.

Apparels

Trendy Traditions, an exhibition of cotton weaves, at Swabhumi, noon to 8.30 pm.

Art shows

An exhibition of video sculpture from Germany at CIMA Gallery, 3 pm to 7 pm. Man?s Inhumanity, a show by G?nther Uecker, at Birla Academy of Art and Culture, 4 pm. Celebrating Nature, recent artworks by Bhagat Singh, at Anant Art Gallery, 11 am to 7 pm. An exhibition of drawings and paintings at Academy of Fine Arts, 3 pm to 8 pm. A show of paintings by Samindranath Majumdar at Akar Prakar, 3 pm to 8 pm. Recent works by Ashoke Roy at Academy of Fine Arts, 3 pm to 8 pm.
