| Who’s the boss' Even as speculation on the launch of a morning broadsheet by the India Today group grows stronger, the guesswork on the identity of its editor has already begun. The two names that are doing the rounds are those of The Times of India executive editor Joydeep Bose and The Hindustan Times editor Vir Sanghvi. While these may be wild guesses, what may be closer to truth is the appointment of Chaitanya Kalbag as the managing editor of The Hindustan Times’ proposed business daily. Kalbag was editor, Reuters, Asia Pacific, and has worked with the news agency since 1983.
Humble Helen Helen, the original item girl who could set the screen on fire in her heyday, is also a great lady it seems. Recently, when Baba Ramdev was in Mumbai holding a yoga camp, Helen stood in the queue for a long time to be allowed in. When she was told that celebrities were being ushered inside and did not have to wait, she refused to use her star power to get preferential treatment. “I wanted to get the benefit of the yoga course, not behave like some celebrity and have a lot of fuss made over me. So I just stood in the queue and waited my turn,” said Helen. Nice to know that humility is not dead and gone from Bollywood. |
