Calcutta, April 8: Police have arrested a man for collecting money against forged bank drafts. Manoj Khattere would hand out fake drafts to traders in Posta and Burrabazar as “security deposits” and collect nearly 90 per cent of the draft’s worth in cash.

He had been giving such drafts to a trader, Mahabir Prasad Dayama, and had collected Rs 13.77 lakh in cash before they were cleared by a bank. Yesterday, Dayama lodged a police complaint.
