Guwahati, April 7: The Assam regional office of Nabard has sanctioned Rs 135.86 crore under schematic refinance for 2005-06. The initial target of the bank in this regard was Rs 100.1 crore.
A Nabard official said the refinance for the non-farm sector stood at Rs 117.48 crore, constituting an achievement of 152.57 per cent as against the target of Rs 77 crore.
He said in the fisheries sector, the bank for the first time identified clusters for development of fisheries for which Rs 2.5 crore credit was extended by various banks.
Further, for the first time, beel fisheries financing of Rs 10 lakh has been sanctioned by Asom Gramin Vikash Bank in Nagaon district to increase fish production through scientific fish culture.
In case of the rainwater harvesting scheme for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers, the models were modified for undertaking fish culture in the existing water bodies after renovation, taking into consideration the state?s agro-climatic conditions.
For the first time, commercial banks sanctioned loans amounting to Rs 47.702 lakh and the Nabard regional office sanctioned a subsidy amount of Rs 23.851 lakh for release to banks after confirmation from the head-office.
