Aizawl, March 30: Mizoram home minister Tawnluia on Wednesday alleged that the Assam Rifles battalion posted in North Tripura was helping the militant Bru Liberation Front of Mizoram (BLFM).

Tawnluia told the House that the state home secretary had visited New Delhi last week, equipped with intelligence reports. The minister said the Mamit SP had met his counterpart in Tripura over the matter.

Earlier in the day, Zoram Nationalist Party legislator Lalduhoma said the government needed to expedite steps to control the activities of Bru militants in western Mizoram, bordering Tripura.
