Ames up 37 places to No. 27

London: Canadian Stephen Ames rose 37 places to 27th in the world rankings issued on Monday after his win at the Players Championship in Florida.

In the only change in the top 10, Jim Furyk moves up one position to seventh, swapping places with fellow-American David Toms.

Jean Van de Velde of France climbed from 295th to 135th in the rankings after securing his second European Tour title at the Madeira Island Open.
