Filter for villagers
A water filter with a difference (March 13) was an enlightening article. Purioin, the new water filter, seems to be a boon for the common people living in villages, where ground water is sometimes the only source of water, and there are chances of bacterial contamination. It can also serve as a significant device in urban areas. Despite its benefits, it is the marketing strategy, which decides the fate of a new product.

Inspiring youths
It was nice of you to highlight rural inventors and their inventions in India innovates (March 6). It was overwhelming to know about these unconventional yet intelligent advancements. A better yield of grassroots innovators can be achieved through counselling and creating more awareness amongst them. The story will indeed be an inspiration for the youths of today.

Perilous medicine
I was completely baffled by the review Medical science fallible after all (March 6). Its really strange that your supplement, which promotes scientific spirit and comes down heavily on non-scientific subjects like homeopathy, went against the norm by carrying a review of a book that propagates the perils of modern day medicines.

Model diagnosis
Good medicine (February 27) was indeed a well-informed and enlightening story. Every patient has got the right to be informed about the complication and risk involved before the doctor starts the treatment. This will not only ease the psychological trauma but also make the patients feel more secure. This initiative will push the medical system a step forward towards better care of patients.
