Airtel rings in unified regime

Calcutta, Feb. 27: Bharti Airtel today consolidated all telecom businesses under an integrated structure One Airtel.

Manoj Kohli, president of mobility division, has been appointed as the president of Bharti Airtel and will lead the unified management structure of One Airtel.

“The new system will be an endeavour to build an integrated business while assuring sustainability and scalability to manage 100 million customers and beyond. It will also ensure operational freedom through matrix reporting relationships,” said Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman and managing director of Bharti.

As part of the new structure, Kohli will head the Airtel Management Board, which will be responsible for Bharti Airtel’s strategy and operational performance.

This board will consist of three joint presidents and Sarvjit Dhillon, who will take over as director of finance and business integration, Jai Menon, director of information technology and innovation, Hemant Sachdev, director of marketing and communications, and Don Price, director of networks for Bharti Airtel.

The group corporate office will focus on the overall business strategy and provide support to the Airtel Management Board. K. Krishnan would be the new joint president and lead the broadband and telephone services SBU.

Vinod Sawhny has been promoted to joint president, Airtel Enterprise Services, which will comprise enterprise services (carriers) and enterprise services (corporates).
