Trains held up by protesters

Train services on the main section of Eastern Railway's Sealdah division was hit for several hours on Tuesday morning due to blockades at Titagarh and Sodepur stations. nitially, workers of a jute mill obstructed trains at Titagarh station to protest non-payment of their salary. Later, a few people obstructed trains at Sodepur station to protest the earlier disruption. As a result, 15 pairs of EMUs were cancelled and several long distance trains were delayed by about two-and-a-half hours.

Delhi flights delayed

Morning flights to and from Delhi were delayed by several hours on Tuesday due to dense fog in the Capital. Flights of Indian, Jet Airways, Air Sahara and other airlines were delayed by three hours on an average.

Campus clash

Two groups of students clashed in Maulana Azad College on Tuesday over student union activities.

Building collapse

Two persons were trapped after a portion of a building on Strand Road, in Burrabazar, collapsed on Tuesday evening. Firemen rescued the two.
