Turner to set up two parks

New Delhi, Feb. 21: Children can now meet their favourite television cartoon characters in theme parks as well. Turner International India Pvt Ltd (TIIPL) plans to establish two theme parks in the national capital region involving an investment of Rs 550 crore.

The parks would be designed around Turner’s kids’ channels ? Cartoon Network and Pogo.

The Cartoon Network park, christened as the Cartoon Network Townsville, will come up in Noida while Planet Pogo ? the park woven around the Pogo channel programmes ? will be located in Rohini in west Delhi.

The 3.5-acre Planet Pogo, with eight rides and seven theme attractions, will be ready for children on November 1 and the 6.8 acre Townsville with 13 theme rides early next year, said Ian Diamond, senior vice-president and general manager of Turner Entertainment Networks Asia.
