Jamshedpur, Feb. 12: Former chief minister Babulal Marandi, whose 11 loyalists have been shown the doors by the state BJP for their alleged anti-party activities during last Assembly polls, has called a meeting of party workers in Giridih on February 15.
Although the meeting is supposed to be attended by partymen from Koderma, Giridih and Hazaribagh to discuss several issues, BJP sources close to Marandi revealed that the issue of ?unconstitutional? suspension of party leaders would dominate the scene.
Marandi, who reached Jamshedpur late last night, told The Telegraph that over 2,500 workers from district and panchayat-level are expected to attend the meeting.
However, he refused to comment whether the issue of suspension of party leaders would be discussed in that meeting.
Out of the 11 party leaders suspended yesterday, three are from Hazaribagh and one from Koderma. Six of the suspended leaders belong to East Singhbhum and one from Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
A day after the suspension of the party leaders, the Yadunath Pandey camp remained incommunicado while Marandi loyalists have trained their guns for tirade against the present state BJP leadership.
Reportedly, the suspended leaders and senior party activists close to Marandi have also decided to approach the central BJP leadership and soon head for Delhi to meet president Rajnath Singh over the matter.
However, BJP sources confided that the party leaders would head for Delhi after February 15 meeting.
?The expulsion is unconstitutional. The party?s constitution does not permit the state leadership to take a decision in a matter pending since the past six months,? said senior party leader Deepak Prakash.
