Burdwan, Feb. 5: Police today stopped filling of a pond at Kamaladighi in Burdwan town following a complaint by the local municipality, reports our correspondent.

The police said the pond, belonging to a DYFI leader of the area and shown as a water body in land records, was being filled up with earth and garbage over the past couple of months.

The Trinamul Congress has launched a campaign against filling up of the pond.
